On 27/2/09, Bob W, discombobulated, unleashed: >Yes, I think Leica need to rethink the shutter use on the M8 and M8.2. On >the M8 it cocks the shutter automatically. The M8.2 gives you the option of >not cocking the shutter until you let your finger off the button, so it goes >some way to giving you a bit more control - it's a relatively noisy shutter, >so this can matter. I think they should add a shutter-cocker to the next >camera they make, either a traditional lever or a button. They should also >make the shutter itself quieter. The Oly E-1's shutter is incredibly quiet; >the M8 makes a noise like a broken bed spring. Actually I was referring to the physical activity of using the thumb to move the wind-on lever - that actually cocks the shutter. It seems the M8 and it's ilk have a little button that you press down and release, and it cocks the shutter automatically. That's really very quaint. -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
