Preference has nothing to do with it. It's economic forces. You may
*prefer* horse-drawn carriages and sailboats.
(Also, people keep referring to computer screens, monitors and digital
picture frames in this discussion. Stop it. Those old technologies have
little in common with the technology that's going to replace books.)
