I find that mine have no predictable preferences. :-( I guess the practical upshot is that white balance should not be judged with one eye only. But to bring things somewhat back to what Bruce W took up... TN panels do have a more narrow viewing angle than have IPS. Lenovo, for example, marketed their IPS laptop screens (the T60, most notably) as "FlexView".
