I sometimes sit in front of my computer and read my newspaper. How
weird is that?:-). I still subscribe to two dailies: the New York
Times and the Detroit News, but like the Free Press, the Detroit News
is going to five days a week, without lowering their subscription
price. When it happens, I'll cancel.

I still go to used book stores even though Amazon is easier. I like the feel
of book stores. I deliberately buy there to help support them, and I like
buying books I can touch and look through and see if I am interested. You
can't
always tell just buying online; I've bought a lot of books on Amazon that
once I opened them I wish I hadn't.

And I still take a paper even though I read it mainly online. I do it to
support their continued existence. Besides I find a use for the paper, makes
good packing material. And who knows? Maybe I would/could lose my Internet
connection either completely or sometimes.

With cyber stuff it's always good to have a backup on other media and or a
paper backup, a paper copy, a paper trail. As a former computer consultant, I
know this very, very well.

I fear for us all if we ever end up in the position that we don't have
backups or paper copies (for photos, books, newspapers, whatever), we could
lose
too much knowledge. Accumulated knowledge.
