I was in my local Leica pusher's today, dropping the M8 off to have the shutter release / on-off switch fixed, and putting the M4-2 up for sale. I was very tempted by a beautiful 1929 Leica 1 at a surprisingly reasonable price. I chatted to the evil person who tempts innocent photographers with these and he told me it was a model A which had been converted at some time in the past to a model C. Lovely camera. I'm still tempted.
