How about the prophoto color space? Colorspace is a processing output specification. You can render any camera's RAW files into RGB files conforming to ProPhoto RGB colorspace today. Dynamic range is what is needed, and obtaining it goes hand in hand with obtaining more signal to noise. Godfrey ========== Okay. I really don't understand sensors (and, thank you, I've read about them about as much as I'd like). I'll go with that. I do understand color spaces somewhat and post processing and I've used pro photo once and was rather impressed with the wider color range. (Actually, a bit more complicated than that, I took a photography class where we got to use an additional/much wider color space that some photographer had created. It wasn't actually prophoto, but same idea. In some shots it made a significant difference.) Increased dynamic range would be good. I'd be very happy if camera companies concentrated more on that now and less on more and more megapixels.
