Saying it's not a slum is damning with faint praise, Ann!  Your
neighbourhood is like the coolest in the world!  Right around the
corner from Stromboli's pizza (which I'm glad I got to try before I
went veggie), 10 minute walk from Chinatown, St. Mark's Square, etc,
etc.
