Hi David and welcome.I haver found this list to be very informative and i'm sure you will to.
In regards to the DOF on the MZ-M.I have never used one but one of the girls who rides with out horse show team is using one in her photography class.I think it is either a switch or button you press and should work as in the old "spotty" cameras,by stopping down the aperature to "see "what the camera see's.However in dark situations it is almost impossible to make out what your DOF is,at least in my spottys it is.
