Already bought them. Read Jean de F then watched the film, watched Manon then watched the film. Books and films both great, but the books are even better than the films. The character of Ugolin, for example, is very much more developed in the books and he's a very sympathetic but pathetic character. And the quality of the writing is superb, although I had to run to my dictionary quite often for some of the obscure Provencal / Catalan and agriculture vocabulary.
