My wish list:
1. 5fps. No, I'm not a machine gunner. Faster frame rate means the
camera is ready to shoot again faster *if I need it* and there are
certainly times it would be useful.
2. Improved AF, to go along with the quicker readiness and well, because
they need to improve the AF.
3. The usual stuff: metal frame/mount, good weather-sealing, and better
signal to noise ratio at higher sensitivity.
I think a logical step would be an upgraded shutter/mirror-box assembly,
which could yield:
Faster top shutter speed
Higher frame-rate
Shorter viewfinder blackout
Faster x-sync for flash
I find it incredible that, here in 2009, with smaller-than
35mm-full-frame shutters, we still have a flash sync speed slower than
that of the PZ-1p of 1992.
I suppose I'd like the faster frame rate and top shutter speed, too, but
they aren't really important to me. I'd love the shorter viewfinder
blackout even though I can't think of a real advantage to it :) I've
used a couple of the high-end Nikons and the very brief blackout between
when the mirror goes up and when it comes down is very addictive. Again,
I can't think of a major advantage to it - I just like it!
Basically, I'd like it to be enough of an improvement that it makes
sense to upgrade.
That seems unfashionably reasonable of you.
