This is huge, actually. It's astounding how many SDM failures just all of a 
sudden have been reported.
It's made worse by the fact that SDM isn't giving a significant performance 
increase (it's significanly slow on the 55/1.4), and if the lens has a screw 
drive, you can't switch over to it if the focus motor fails.
