Enough specific places that I happen to be in (like the example given in my first post) have similar-enough lighting that it would be helpful. I understand that no one actually has a helpful answer to my question, but that doesn't mean that there *shouldn't* be one. Pentax customer support USA couldn't help me either -- presumably only some engineers in Pentax Japan know the answer.
