The way I understand the inner workings of PPG is that upon submitting
photos it undergoes the peer voting and if it passes that it goes
through the judge(s) of Pentax Gallery. The peer voting may take up
to two weeks or so; it was said somewhere that a unanimous positive
vote of a sample group (it seems impractical to have all 1000+ members
to vote) of maybe 20(?) can get your photo in within that two week
period.

Photos which do not get the vote (less than half of 20?) gets declined
while the ones that did now goes under the scrutiny of the webmasters
of PPG and sits around 'under review' for another week or so. Applying
this may show that your photo accepted in the 2nd group must have
passed peer voting with flying colors while the ones lingering from
the 1st group may have passed but are now waiting for the decision of
the PPG gods.

It also seems now that PPG gets updated by batches; I imagine the work
involved adding photos and those updates seem to take place around
every 3 weeks. Those waiting 'under review' here does not seem to
guarantee acceptance having as much chance as those voted on in the
peer selection.

One thing I noticed though, is that details can matter in the
selection of the PPG judges. I had a couple of 'PORTRAITS' declined
but when I resubmitted them under ' GLAMOR' were accepted. I have also
figured that you can only have so many photos entitled 'Sunset'. So
often I edit the details of photos declined after 3 weeks (those
reject by PPG itself) by changing the title, adding or deleting a
category. I had a couple of photos accepted that way; however it
works only with the latter process. Something declined in peer voting
instantly stays declined when you change the details which may not
matter in that process.

All this has all be based on hunch and stuff I heard from others...
