Well $350, the gift card is a general purpose target card, if nothing
else you could buy $100 worth of groceries, their prices aren't out of
line with a regular supermarket.

Note the XS is so badly crippled they probably couldn't move it at a
higher price(1.5fps in RAW? fuggedaboutit, even Canon junkies are
recommending that people avoid the XS). And I doubt they got a 70-300
IS for $200, more likely the 75-300 IS (a real dog of a lens).
That kit does appear to be worth the $450 they payed.

I've been finding those kinds of deals quite often lately, it's not digital
so no one wants it.
On a related note, I just got back from visiting friends who just bought a
\new digital SLR. Target was selling the Canon Digital Rebel XS with the
18-55 IS kit lens for $250. A price that apparently was too good to pass
up. Kind of surprising since my friend was a die hard OM-1 film user. Oh
and he picked up the Canon IS 70-300 Kit lens for an additional $200, Target
tossed in a $100 gift card, and Canon branded kit bag to carry the camera
both lenses and a few odds and ends...
Just to bring it back on topic, I don't see how Pentax can hope to compete
with that.

I found a late 80's~early 90's K1000 at Goodwill the other day. It had a
busted Ozunon zoom on it. Great condition with a working (and accurate)
meter...all for $19.99.
Score!
