I think there's way too much contrast in the second version. The
hightlights are almost gone. But I think that reducing the impact of
the background elements was a good thing. I would subtly (maybe 40%
opacity) clone some dark background over the colorful background
elements in one but leave the contrast alone. But that's just me.
