If you're using a Mac (which I guess you might be, since you mention Apple), I highly recommend Scrivener:

Personally, I don't think there is a better writing tool out there. It makes it incredibly easy to organaize all your material, manage the entire manuscript, and then export in virtually any useful format.

Hi All.

Over the years, with many tales and stories told in the survey lunch
rooms around the world, it has been suggested by more than one person,
that i should sit down and write a book about how land surveying has
changed from when i started, 1973 to when i was asked to retire, 2007.
I have many a tale to dictate.:-)

As of Thursday, I'll have some time on my hands till Sept 5th so i
might just have at it this summer.
I was thinking a Blurb or similar type book might be the best way to
go. Ease of publishing and fairly inexpensive.

Question is, would it be best to write the stories in MS word or
Apples version of word, THEN cut and paste the text and photos, or
just type away on Blurbs software.

I';m thinking the latter might be to hard to cut and paste when i
decide to move paragraphs etc.

Any thoughts.
