Igor: I don't know of anyway to trick the printer to do what you describe,
and even if I knew a way, I'm not sure I'd try it, so I'm sorry to say, I
can't be of any help to you.
I find switching Photo Black & Mat Black a big bore! It would be nice if
one could load both cartridges into the printer and then just flick a switch
to choose which Black one needed.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. Cheers, Christine

Subject: How to use matte paper profiles with non-matte black cartridge
onEpson?
Hi All,
Is there any way to trick the profile for matte paper
to print with the standard black cartridge on Epson printer (R2880)?
(Yes, I realize that the color calibration might be less than optimum)
I've encountered the situation that I have the standard black cartridge
installed in my R-2880, while I want to print on Harman Matt FB Mp paper,
but I am reluctant to change the cartridge for just a few photos.
The printer driver doesn't let me to choose any matte paper under
"media" in the absence of the matte cartridge.
Godfrey:
I remember you saying that you were not changing your black cartridge for
long time, and I remember that you were printing on matte paper.
Did you have the matte one installed or the standard one?
If it was the stanard one, - how did you print on matte paper using
paper profiles?
Thank you,
Igor
