That doesn't look right to me, too much fringing. FWIW, heres a recent sample from my Tamron SP LD ID 180mm F2.5 lens. This is the best long tele I have ever used on digital. Its so good, that I sold my SMCK200/2.5 which had much more CA.

Are old Tamron lenses incompatible with digital? Thanks everyone for your input! (I never cease to be amazed by the generosity of the members of this list, you guys are amazing!) I uploaded some more samples to http://www.islandlight.ca/photos/temp. Which are perhaps a more fair test (not so high contrast) There is so much flare around what is in focus that I have been tending to focus behind the subject because until I stop down it looks more sharp then what is actually in focus. I don't know if it is normal for that lens but it doesn't perform anywhere near the way my Pentax K 200mm 2.5 does (or any other lens that I have for that matter) and considering the price I was expecting something slightly more impressive. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
