Seems Adorama is showing something close to list prices on their web page now. Add an item to the shopping cart to see the real selling
price.


Back when it was all still 800 numbers and mail-order, the U.S. had some kind of "fair trade" laws that supposedly prevented big mail-order retailers from advertising prices below MSRP, so they wouldn't undercut local merchants.

It actually benefited manufacturers more than local merchants.

I wonder if camera manufacturers are putting pressure on the big internet dealers because their prices are again hurting local dealers, which in turn would ultimately cost the manufacturers.
