I normally shoot PEF+JPG, and I've found that the JPGs come out better if I set +0.5 to +1 exposure compensation, regardless of the lens I'm using, with both the *ist D and the K10D. I haven't tried the K20D or the K7. The RAWs aren't any better but they seem to take less "conversion machinations", too. It seems like the converters I've used start with the camera settings as their baseline, or something.
