There's nothing wrong with owning a Playstation - that's what my Blu-Ray player is (and, as a bonus, I can play Lego Batman on it).
Personally I've been happy with Sony stuff ever since my first Walkman; it's my brand of choice for Audio/Video gear. Even my first TiVo was a Sony - the DirecTiVo SA-T60. And I've even got a couple of Beta decks somewhere in a closet. Apart from the current TiVo boxes I think the only piece of non-Sony gear on the A/V shelves is the Phillips region-free DVD player.
