I do have some Sony things. A 14" TV that visitors laugh at

because it is

old and apparently very out-dated - it's a 1996 model if I remember
correctly. I also have a stereo system which includes a

cassette deck and an

MD player, but it also has a CD player, which is quite

convenient. Young

people find it very amusing, just as I did when I stayed

with a great aunt

who still played 78s on a wind-up gramophone with a horn.

I have a non-Sony digital radio-cum-MP3 player as well,

which is probably

the most modern amusement device in the house, but the MP3

player can only

fit an album-and-a-half into its memory, so it's really not

all that useful

considering I bought it for long train journeys.

Somewhere towards the bottom of my priority list for

discretionary spending

is 'get a better TV and stuff'.

If "better" = "bigger" I have a 26" Toshiba CRT that I refuse to throw out as it is perfectly functional. As my "don't throw anything out that is still functional when the outlaws insist on us having their newer (but usually inferior) item, so that they will eventually understand that it is not a good idea to be changing things like TVs every nine months" policy seems to be failing, it's yours for the asking. I'm drowning in nearly-new household goods. Have a set-top digibox to go with it, too.

Thanks for the kind offer, Mike. But 26" is more than I can take. The
maximum size for any TV in this little house is 20". Because the house is so
small I also want a flat screen whenever I get round to sorting it all out.
Probably Sony.

I'll probably have one in a week or two.......
