I'm sure there are many. I'm not as familiar with GIMP as I once was so I'm not qualified to speak.
Another package you might want to look at is Artweaver which is supposedly more of a Photoshop-lookalike than GIMP. But if you're used to Photoshop, Artweaver will drive you insane with the small differences in its interface...
I use Artweaver at work as my job doesn't justify paying for Photoshop but sometimes I need something more capable than Irfanview :)
