Fred, I asked this same question of the list a while back. Several people remarked that due to the lists complaints that Colorado has gotten their act together. As for things to ask, I just boxed up my LX to put in the mail to Colorado, havent mailed it yet. It is my oldest (to me) and most beat up, bought as demo model back when I couldnt afford a new one, I should have held out for a new one. I am asking them to do a CLA/Rebuild to bring the camera up to spec and asking them if they can do some cosmetic repairs like replace the top and base plates and DOF Preview button. I even asked if I could get the hollow shutter lock. If they do everything I ask it will be like a new camera. That is if I dont suffer from sticker shock when I get the estimate.
I didnt ask for the new mirror box or new shutter, but now I wonder if I should. Good thing I havent sent it yet. Thanks Fred. Pentax Colorados address, from there website is: Pentax Corporation Attention: Service 35 Inverness Drive East Englewood CO 80112 Geoff > OK, it's finally time to get a couple of the older LX's repaired. > Both now suffer from sticky mirror syndrome (although both had > worked well for a long time before taking ill), so they obviously > need a CLA, as a minimum.
