If the Canon G11 is a rather natural evolution without anything surprising the S90 is interesting IMO because very compact and as such can compete with Pana LX3 (on size at least) and yet receives a (35mm eq.) 28-105mm f/2.0-4.9 zoom and rather big sensor (for a compact) of 1/1.7".
