The E-P1 Has some faults, but they are mostly speed of operation, especially the AF. The IQ is excellent. I've also adapted to shooting off the LCD, and, to my surprise, it's not really a deal breaker for me anymore. This camera is essentially just what is needed to make a good image. I'm definitely thinking of getting the 17mm, at which point is its pocketable enough to make P&S's irrelevant. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Godfrey DiGiorgi [[email protected]] Sent: Friday, August 21, 2009 7:39 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: [Not Pentax] Interesting advanced compacts cameras announced

I'm just bemused by why every announcement of a new point and shoot by Canon causes so much flap and discussion, even on lists that are not Canon centric. This G11 isn't much smaller than the Olympus E-P1. At the same time, it lacks interchangeable lenses and has a much smaller sensor.
