Unfortunately, the K20D is even more crippled in long-time exposure than
the K-7 with firmware 1.01.

This is why I've sold my K20D and kept the K10D. 

BTW, I'm looking for a used *istDS. Mine is developing some sort of
galloping dementia and I still want to keep one for infrared.
