Bill, I have no experience with the battery grip or switching to the battery there. I have run the K7 on the battery 'down one mark', and have even gotten it to down two marks (1/2 full?!?), but then it's time to change. I've only had one battery charge/change after 1,100 raw photos and chimping. I'm sure you've had a lot more. Regards, Bob S.
