Hi Rob,

Not that I've noticed. If there is a difference it's a lot less than
the difference on the LX. On the LX the sound goes from one with a
metallic ping, similar to the old LX, to a nice, subtle, "thunk". I'd
like to record a WAV of these differences, but I don't know if I have
the software to do it. I can record the sounds on my tape deck and
maybe someone can convert them to a WAV which I can then upload for
everyone's listening pleasure.

Someone on the list once suggested that the aperture actuation may have
something to do with it, but when I mentioned that the sound was
different even with the lens used wide open, I got some derisive,
smart-ass response, and decided not to pursue the matter. But the truth
is, this really intrigues me, especially since the differences are so
great. I'd think the way to start is to first use every lens on every
body, and note the differences, and then, through some further testing,
try to isolate why the differences exist. It's a daunting project,
that's for sure.
