As a side note, I did a photo workshop with G. Lepp in Alaska and he mentioned being able to borrow this lens from Canon for his time in Alaska. At the time he said it was worth $80k USD.

He refused the offer saying it was just not worth his concern to be worried about this lens during his trip. He drove up from Calif. btw.
