It applies to all flash connections. Now Pentax claims their cameras can handle fairly high voltages, but I had problems with a Vivitar 2000 on a ZX-M so YMMV.

I have an IMAGE TB-100 flash head that I used with my spotmatic and am
wondering if this can be fired with the K20D X-Synch socket. I recall
some discussion of voltage issues but was not sure if that only applied
to the hotshoe.

My son's photo class has some call for flash shots and i have never
really gotten into that aspect.

many thanks

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or
drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn
fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a
free man any more than a dog.
