Not so fast. I don't consider a single mention on an unpedigreed website to
constitute a "reference." I was hoping for something at least published, if
that's not too quaint. Hopefully with at least some vaguely traceable
authoritativeness. 

Neither Goldberg in _Camera Technology_ nor the Lewis, Ed., _The History of
the Japanese Camera_ translated from the Japanese and published jointly by
George Eastman House and The Japan Camera and Optical Instruments Inspection
and Testing Institute make any mention of Minolta having invented OTF
metering. And I've never heard of "Photography History Guru Mr. Bob Howard."
