The lack of hyperprogram is a shame.

I decided long ago that I won't buy a camera without some sort of "hyperprogram" mode, probably about ten seconds after I started using the MZ-S. HyP is just too convenient and helpful when I'm busy shooting. If something eventually forces me off the Pentax platform, the new platform will /have/ to have something similar, or I'll just stick with my old equipment until it completely dies.

I also like to be able to easily change the metering mode and, less
frequently, the AF mode.

I don't change metering modes often, but I would definitely like to be able to change AF mode some more convenient way than on the * ist D, K100D, and K10D.

I don't care that much about the SR on-off dial and the braketing one.

I almost never turn SR off, and I bracket less frequently than that, so they could bury them ten levels deep in menus and it wouldn't bother me. :-)

Really, it would probably increase their unit costs, but I think having more than one, say maybe three or four, buttons that are reprogrammable to /any/ menu function would make the "eye at the viewfinder" command well nigh perfect. Or maybe a couple of buttons plus a third wheel that's programmable to the menu commands for which a wheel makes sense. It seems we all want some different menu functions on buttons, and I sure don't want a hundred and fifty buttons and wheels on the body. :-)
