Jaume,
yes, the K-x AF-performance is a veritable step forward, now it works
flawless also in low light.
You should check if this AF-tweak is good enough to suit your particular
style of photography.
Concerning Hyperprogram, you can activate it in the Rec Menu 4/Green
Button then set up E-dial in P-mode either to Program shift (default) or
Av/Tv and off. You have to pick either one or the other because K-x has
just one E-dial.
Yes, status screen can be turned off by pressing Info button twice
(first klick: control panel, second klick: off), yet if doing so it
won't show you the review after shot. But if you want to change ISO and
press the dedicated button the status screen will go on again even if it
was turned off before. There is a way to work around this though, the
Sv-mode.
A word about shutter sound: this is unique by each Pentax camera I have
heard so far. K-x sounds less "motorized" and less damped as the K20
sound, somehow the subjective feeling upon the sound is as the exposure
time is being longer as it actually is. The camera is a bit louder than
K20, which makes it harder to use unnoticed in silent situations. But
outside in the crowd with a pancake lens, you will have no problems... :))
cheers,
dragan
