Slower than the 16-50 but smaller and > cheaper. > Good point. That's an excellent lens as well. I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between that lens and the 16-50 at f 5.6 or so. I sold mine and bought the 16-50 because I need the speed for weddings and other indoor events, but in every other way, the performance was comparable.
