I've long adopted the belief that most of the publicized effort and successes against terror are scare tatics intended to keep the public obedient and grateful about giving up civil rights and liberties - if you look at the ratio of prevented vs successful terrorist attacks, either 5-0 are the uber-shizznit or terrorists are dumb as rocks and you have to wonder how they managed to stay alive that long in the first place... or, as they say about elections: every 4 years you make your cross and then you bear it...
