Well, I suppose I better come up with something worth reading here. What have I actually learned from the PDML. Hmm. In no particular order: *I've learned that email lists are a pretty interesting way of communicating. *I've learned to sit for longer at my desk taptaptapping without my bottom going numb (quick stand-up once every 5 minutes). *I've learned that online galleries like the PUG are a fantastic way of showcasing work. And the truly international nature of it brings out the best and most positive aspects of humanity in a world with lots of hatred about. *I've learned that it's better to be kind than cruel with words, IMO. *I've learned that meeting people in the flesh that I originally met through email lists is a rewarding experience and if I won the lottery big, I'd throw a party and fly in every PDML subscriber, poster and lurker, for the bash of the century. *I've learned that I can actually enhance my enjoyment of photography by writing about it to other people who understand. *I've learned that I can only be who I am, nuttiness and all, and that you have to take me as you find me. *I've learned that it's proper netiquette to introduce oneself on an email list and say hello (I never did !!! and now I'm too ashamed to do it!) *I've learned that at the end of the day it doesn't matter a jot whether one's on a Mac or a PC - as long as you have fun along the way. *I've learned that I'm not the only one who spends the bank's money on lenses. *I've learned that there are some damned good photographers on the PDML and I am truly humbled when someone likes a pic of mine! *I've learned that getting an LX was a defining moment in the ahhh, 'contentment' of my photographic existence. Baby. *I've learned that a lot of PDMLers do not have English as their first language, and yet they not only face that barrier with true grit, but persevere and produce considered and careful critique. Beautiful. *I've learned that lots of things I know and like are shared by lots of other PDMLers. *I've learned how to outwit my partner when it comes to procuring new lenses. *I've learned how to get round her when I goof up and she finds out. *I've learned that my photography is improving as a direct result of the way I think and feel through communicating with people on this list. And so finally, *I've learned that one can never say thanks enough! Thanks and Cheers, Cotty ;-) _______________________________________________________ Personal email traffic to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MacAds traffic to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Check out the UK Macintosh ads http://www.macads.co.uk - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
