Nobody's feeding them. I can stand in my front door and see half a dozen 90 - 100 ft tall black walnut trees. I can see another half dozen out my kitchen windows.
I usually have 3 or 4 sprouts to dig up every year from where the squirrels buried walnuts in nooks & crannies around the foundation.
