See my answer to your other post.  On my K10D, the advantage to shooting PEF is 
that the files are losslessly compressed, so that I can get 170-180 shots on a 
2GB card; the DNGs aren't compressed.

I believe that the DNGs are compressed on the K7, though, so there is probably 
no advantage to either format.
