I don't know how well it applies for US and Argentina, but here in Europe - Czechia, I can send money in an letter if it's a special envelope branded "valuable letter" or "valuable package", up to some sum in $. The package/letter is of course insured. But that's at our post company, even with the abundance of private post companies in US it might not be available at all.
