On 28/2/10, Mark Roberts, discombobulated, unleashed: >The Valley RAF base in Anglesey has one runway that, even though it >doesn't actually cross the public road, comes up *right* to the edge, >necessitating set of traffic lights to stop traffic at times. >Apparently the fighter jocks like to set down on the first few feet of >runway if possible and might graze the roofs of larger vehicles on the >road.
Brize Norton is very similar. The map on this page: <http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/spotting/brize_norton.html> shows where I live, lowere left 'Alvescot' and the runway at far right has a perimeter road with lights holding back traffic for take-off/ landing. See 3rd picture from bottom of same page. -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ---------- http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
