On 12/3/10, Thomas Bohn, discombobulated, unleashed: >Why don't the US get an VAT like the rest of us? I mean I pay 19 % VAT >no matter if I buy on or offline, well sometimes it is just 7 % but >who cares about those details?
Americans do pay a sales tax at the point of purchase, but only within the state in which they live. Which is a bit daft as if you're in say Virginia and you buy online from B and H in NY, then you don't pay the tax... -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ---------- http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
