That's what "democracy" is all about. Real democracy isn't pretty. It
can be very ugly. Don't ever confuse civility with democracy, you'll
find yourself wondering where the mob came from. You can have either or
both, or neither.

Well that's a load of crap. The Constitution is designed to keep democracy at arms length by keeping government on a short leash. You should read the Federalists if you have any doubts about that.
