Morning all - I've been thinking for a while of adding a winder to my ME
Super. Since I got the -5n, I've come to appreciate that there are
times when it really helps to have the film wound for me. (Although
there have been as many times when I've been glad of the Super's
relative quietness.) I keep looking on the wrong side of the viewfinder
for the shutter speed too, but that's another story.
The only thing that concerns me is that I'm a little afraid that a
winder will put extra strain on the Super's advance mechanism and
possibly shorten its life. The camera has been unfailingly reliable
over 17 years and on three continents, and I admit I have a degree of
sentimental attachment to it as my first Proper Camera, so I wouldn't
want to put that at risk. Anyone have any experiences, good or bad,
that would help me decide?
Much obliged,
Clive.
