I bought the 13-inch Macbook, and I couldn't be more pleased. I take
it to shoots, interviews, meetings and out in the backyard when I'm
writing. Great to have something so portable yet powerful. For photo
work, I use my desktop system with two large calibrated monitors. I
wouldn't want a cumbersome laptop, but it all depends on the intended
use. I'll second the recommendation for the Apple Protection Program.
It's the only extended warranty that I would buy, but it's a sound
investment.

Steve covered it all pretty well.
I am likely getting a new laptop sometime soon too (I won't buy
anything but an Apple laptop) and the 15" was my choice for the
anti-glare screen, but the 13" is pulling at me specifically because
of the portablility. I'll use my desktop monitor virtually all the
time when I'm home, that size difference makes the 13" very appealing.
Be sure you buy the Apple Protection Program. It's the only extended
warranty that's worth the money ... (I was one of the people who
helped create it in the '90s and early 2000s, so I'm a little proud of
that fact. ;-)
