Hi, Bob. > I'm with Fred.
Oh-oh - there goes any chance you might have had for credibility, Bob - <g>. > 1) If you are from the PDML and want to flog your auctions, do so, > perhaps the list has missed what you are offering. You benefit, > call it a perk for being one of US. I think #1 makes sense, as a perk for being a PDML-er. OK so far... > 3) If you find an interesting item in the last 12 hours of the > auction, and you decide you don't want to buy it, then SHUT-UP. > You wouldn't tell the PDML if you were going to bid on it. Why > do you insist on spoiling the price and opportunity for the rest > of the list. And I'll go along with #3, too, intended to protect fellow PDML-ers who have been ~working~ hard at trying to come up with a Pentax bargain. However, > 2) If you find an interesting item 3-4 days before the auction > closes, or as the auction opens, let the list know. You are > letting the PDML know that it is out there, but the price is > uncertain. Those interested from our list will have to put in > some effort to track the item. I'm not so much in agreement with this one, Bob (although that might start to restore your chance for credibility - <g>). There's not a whole lot of work involved in tracking an item once someone else has done the searching work already. And, it still takes away from the PDML-er who has been doing his Pentax-hunting homework all along. > If it's a Buy-it-now item, then go ahead and mention it. You > noticed a bargain that will go on a first come, first served basis > and alerted your friends on the PDML. Well, I guess this suggestion does tend to favor PDML members (which certainly is a good thing). I suppose it does help both those who work at bargain-hunting and those that don't pretty much equally (if I make the assumption that an eBay-hunting-and-PDML-reading Pentaxer checks his PDML mail about as often as he mines for gold on eBay). > If you know somebody here wants this item, send them a private > message. ALWAYS a good idea !!! ALWAYS a good idea !!! > And like I said before, maybe we need a Want To Buy along with FS > on Fridays. I think that might make a lot of sense. Thanks for putting all this thought into this issue, Bob. So, should I now announce to the PDML about that "Minty" A* 135/1.8 that just appeared on eBay with a BIN price of $350 ??? (Just kidding, just kidding, just kidding...) <g> Fred - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
