A while ago there was some discussion of the relative pro's and con's of using Fedex UPS etc. this is why I hate Fedex... see:

Notice how Fedex have decided that because this package is on an express saver they are going to make me wait the 3 business days for it (see comment "Package not due for delivery"). the Fedex depot is 300 yards from my office and my stuff is sitting there until it's "due date" rather than being delivered as and when it arrives at the depot like UPS or USPS do. This happens every time I order something from NYC via Fedex: they hold it up at the depot until it has taken the prescribed amount of delivery time.
