I did use a lot of different films, most selected for the job at hand.
In the realm of DSLRs the camera effectively has a fixed "film" and
though now far more flexible than film their imaging characteristics
are largely dependent upon the embedded sensor. So in my case the
sensor is important as it sets the limits on what I can potentially do
with any one camera (assuming that I have no more than control over
shutter/ISO and aperture).
