Hi, guys, Thanks for your advice in terms of what the problem may be, and how it might be fixed. Due to the price I paid (well, actually, I haven't paid yet), I think I'm gonna keep it, especially since I went to Henry's here in Toronto, and saw an MX body for substantially more than I paid for this one. I think the repair or CLA plus the sale price will still give me a camera for a fair bit less than I could buy one otherwise (and that includes eBay, once US $ are converted into Cdn).
In terms of what the seller may or may not have known, and our arrangements regarding the repairs, I'll keep them on the QT. I mentioned to the list earlier this week, and off list to a few people, from whom I bought it. I believe that the vendor was most up front about his knowledge of the condition of the camera, and he has been most accomodating regarding this problem. I just don't want anyone on the list to think that the vendor has been in anyway dishonest or misleading as quite the opposite has been true. Given the discussions that I had with the vendor prior to receipt of the camera, a CLA is something that I would have considered as a possibility even had this problem not arose. But thanks to all who replied. I certainly feel better about things now... regards, frank Malcolm Smith wrote: > Where/who did you get your MX from?
