In an earlier post, Aaron asked what my Gamma setting was. I had
reported seeing bands in a BW scan posted by a member. Aaron, I don't
have a clue. The monitor control panel on a mac indicates only
resolution and bit depth. My monitor is a cheapy 20" Sylvania that I
bought at Costco when my Sony died, perhaps the banding is a product of
the monitor. But I don't see it often. In fact, I've only seen it one
other time. Unfortunately, the other place I saw it is in one of the
photos on my website. A monochromatic portrait of an actress shot
through a car window. Anyway, if you can tell me how to determine the
Gamma of my monitor and/or video card, I'd sure like to look into it.
